Managing Challenging Behaviour will launch as a FETAC Level Five Minor Award course on 1st January 2011 and compliments the skills and principles illlustrated in our other programmes. The six modules illustrate a structured approach to understanding the reasons for challenging behaviour and offer framework to allow you consider how behaviour that challenges develops, help you to identify the triggers payoffs and conditions that may lead to challenging behaviour, introduces you to risk assessment and a positive view of risk before finally seeking to integrate all these topics by allowing you cope effectively with behaviour that challenges by enhancing your supports. The comprehensive sixth module illustrates physical skills that may be useful to you in crisis scenarios.
First Steps in ABA covers a range of topics that will introduce you to Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). The course contains a range of interactive learning experiences, including video clips of best practice in action, and offers a host of downloadable templates and materials, proven in evidence based practice, that will help professionals and parents alike design individualised supports in skill acquisition and behaviour that challenges to mention but two areas...
A variation on this course with an additional two modules is being developed with a view to assisting people supporting individuals suffering from Dementia.

The optimal solution is the three day or six evening workshop style course that is now delivered by our partners around Ireland. This is backed up by the online course / support on the community forums (see top right hand side for the link).

Employers can avail of a train-the-trainer programme for all our courses, under the affiliate and partnership programmes. Please note that the FETAC QA status that the Developing Ability Partnership holds does not transfer and that all FETAC programmes are run exclusively and solely by Developing Ability Limited.
